I luv this product. Wish it was a little less Expensive.
So yummy! Tried it when looking for keto friendly mocktails. Mixed with almond milk, a little cream and stevia. Tastes like egg nog. Didn't notice being more relaxed or better sleep, though.
This was a great NA nightcap—over ice with a splash of ginger beer.
Love it! Does the job, helps me unwind and hits the spot when I make a nightcap. By itself I'd say "no" but I don't really think it was intended to be consumed by itself but I mix it with oat milk or Topo Chico and ginger beer of some sort.
I have an auto immune disease and the medications I take do not mix well with alcohol. So I am looking for alternative substitutions.
It's WONDERFUL with Bold Ginger Ale and ice. I was out like a light in 20 min. It tastes like a Sparkling Chai Tea. You have to find what it tastes good with for you. The seven day freshness is the only thing that makes me mad. I will order smaller bottle next time.
I am really enjoying this non-alcoholic cocktail. It’s nice to have a sophisticated unsweet beverage to relax with.
An item that combines personal taste and your body’s reaction to a combination of quite subtle yet impactful ingredients is near impossible to review. You are unique! What you tolerate taste wise is so different to me. That being said, I find this drink utterly delicious, drank straight or mixed. I drink my coffee black, I drink kava daily, there really is no bitter taste I can’t tolerate well. Around 1.5-2oz of this sipped straight in the hour before bed gave me one of the best sleeps I have had in months. Therefore, to me this beautifully replaces the sleep destroying alcoholic “nightcap”, where I can consistently watch my resting heart rate rise for the first half of the night, watch the deep sleep time decrease and the restlessness rise. With this product all of my sleep metrics improved and I enjoyed drinking it. In conclusion, you have to try it! Don’t come crying to me about how bitter it is. Mix it with something sweet you little sugar-baby and I am sure you’ll be just fine. My only hope for you is that it also gives you the wonderful sleep it gave me. If you track your sleep quality, put it to the test!
This stuff really relaxed me quickly and was a great booze substitute and later at night I had really vivid dreams that were nice. Very surprised. Good alcohol substitute if you want to take edge off.
I love my alcohol... too much. It got to where I wanted a drink every night. And one drink always turns in to two. And two can too easily turn into an entire bottle of win if I'm not careful. I'm a generally happy person, it's just that I love getting to the end of the day and winding down, relaxing, and treating myself. But with the alcohol comes feeling weighted down and lazy the next day -- yuck! So something had to change. I don't know that this Kin Dream Light will work for everyone like it'll work for me but I've been drinking it all week and not only do I no longer crave alcohol, I LOVE the way it makes me feel -- so zen, so relaxed. I honestly think it has the effects of feeling mildly ******. I haven't noticed any negative side effects... yet. I wake up the next day and I'm not bloated or heavy feeling or slow mentally (like I would be with the alcohol). I probably have about 3 Dream Light drinks a night within about a 3 hour period. I'm ok with that. It's not a cheaper alternative to alcohol but it's an investment in my health and wellness that I'm willing to make. I also actually like the flavor simply mixed with ice water but I'm used to drinking a all kinds of herbal teas without any sweateners. It might not be delicious to everyone -- especially if you're used to artificial drinks/flavors.
OK, I'm NO sleep expert. I started using my apple watch with the PILLOW app to gauge my sleep cycles. And I will admit this: when I use a shot (or half) of this stuff at night, it knocks me out gently. And according to the PILLOW app it says I get into a deeper sleep earlier than other nights. But I do wake up with no "hangover" (compared to wine, etc). I mix it in a small glass of almond milk, a shot of Califia pecan caramel creamer, and a couple dashes of cinnamon. I use a blender! Then I sip that in front of the tv and let it kick in!
So first off, does this simulate an alcoholic beverage? No, it does not. The consistency is noticeably watery compared to liquor and there's none of the intensity of flavor you get from the volatility of the alcohol in standard booze. However, is it an interesting beverage? Yes, it is. Despite the inadequacies noted above, the flavor profile is respectably complex. The components that stand out most to me are the salinity (from the inclusion of smoked salt) and the bitterness of the gentian root. Cinnamon is also very apparent. It doesn't linger on the palate the same way liquor does, but the gentian root will stay with you a bit. It's marketing as a pre-sleep beverage seems legit, too. It contains, among other things, tryptophan and melatonin. I've found that a 1 to 2 ounce serving (over ice) on my way to bed makes me noticeably sleepy after about an hour. I will also say (although this could just be a placebo effect) that I've slept pretty well after consuming it, and even experienced somewhat more intense dreams than normal. So, if you're trying to avoid drinking booze in an effort to get to sleep, this could be a viable alternative for you. Just think of it as an alternative to booze, though, not a substitute. Also be aware that it's somewhat pricey for something that hasn't been aging for 12 years. If you've got the money to spare, give it a try and see what you think.
To be honest, i was skeptical at first. I was looking at purchasing a bottle of Baileys for the holiday season as I normally do. I have never been much of a fan of Alcohol, but even less of a fan as I get older. I had seen this company advertised around the internets . I figured why the **** not. worse case scenario i'm out $40. Yes it is a bit pricey, however you can spend 8x that on alcohol depending on what you are buying. I am pleasantly surprised. it has an earthy, smokey, ginger flavor, which tastes great added to club soda, or seltzer water. I have been enjoying this at night about an hour and a half before bed. Talk about mellow. very enjoyable.
